Good Morning!
This week was SLOW!!! Last Monday as we went to get Marisela and Nayeli for our FHE, we got to their house and as we were walking up, we got attacked by 4 dogs! They came running out from under their house. I used my bike to protect me, but one of them snuck around my bike and grabbed my calf! The girls mom (Faucina) came running around and got him off. They were so upset, but I played it off as no big deal. It was a big deal! I HATE DOGS! It was horrific. We got the bite all taken care of and went to our FHE. It was a great night with the YW pres. and her husband. The branch has been really good to Marisela and Nayeli. They are so good that Mar and Nay are teaching YW on Sunday. They are awesome girls and I just love watching how their life is unfolding right now! Their mom is coming to church this Sunday for Mother's Day. Her boyfriend is very controlling and won't let her leave the house as often as she would like. That is why she has not been to church yet. She is working on permission for the baptism on the 16th. The boyfriend lives there and just gets drunk everyday. I feel bad for Marisela and Nayeli...we take them from the house when we teach them. They are so positive in it all.
On Tuesday we had an appointment at 11 am. No joke the "real feel" was 109!!! It has been breaking the hundreds everyday, but we were blessed with a cold front this weekend!
We have been working with a less active family named the Baeza family. They are so awesome! They like to feed us on Saturdays now. They came to church yesterday. Their challenge is the husband's job. He works crazy hours, but they are trying to make it everytime they can. I love them so much. They were sealed and they love the church, so it is awesome to see them come back. I love working with less actives just as much as I love investigators! We are working with a few families and some progress for a minute, but some don't. One L.A. we have been working with is dating the man who created MacAfee software. She has invited me to be a bridesmaid at her wedding this fall in Bahamas.
Homer is doing great. He is going to church and he likes learning, but he is having a hard time with authority and baptism. He has been baptized once and no matter how we explain it he does not understand why the priesthood is important. We will keep working with him to help him understand!
Hertha was crazy this week. We found her drunk and watched her baby almost get hit by a car. She still has not come to church and I am sad that we may be dropping her for a while. Maybe she is just a seed we have planted.
Life is happy here in Belize! I am loving being a missionary and I love these people so much! No matter what I know that I am meant to be here and I am meant to meet so many sweet people. They have changed my life and have given me the desire to be a better person! I am forever changed because of them!
I love you guys so much! Have a great week. Work hard, Play hard! :) I will see you all Sunday night for a lovely Skype sesh:) Thank you for your love and support! I love you all!
Bringing 'em Heaven as I glory in His name!
Bless!
