Hello Family and Friends,
No way is it December...No way did I just hit 9 months...No way is time going so fast! First off, I feel like I am in a never ending July, so to think that Christmas is in 2 weeks just blows my mind! I cannot believe I have now been out 9 months. It has been a roller coaster, but I am so thankful for the time I have to serve as a representative of Jesus Christ, especially in this holiday season.
This week was a good one! We had 84 people in church yesterday! That is a record for Santa Elena! It was such a blessing and I think each of the missionaries had an ear to ear grin the whole 3 hours! We had a woman named Angie come back and she was baptized 20 years ago and has not been for about 20 years. She has now been two times in a row! It has been such a blessing to work with her. Her son Keanu has not been baptized and we are working with him to be baptized on the 20th of this month. He is 9 years old. Emma is a lovely lady who lives with the Swanson's. (Martha and Gary) She has come to church and we have been meeting with her! We are not rushing anything with her, we are just loving her.
The Swanson's invited us to a homemade BBQ with them this week and that was heaven on a plate! 9 months without a good Cheeseburger was rough...but that gave me the strength to make it 9 more until I can have one from Dad!!!
On Thursday Sister O and I shared E.T.'s "Pain is Temporary" in Zone meeting. It made me think of the pains I have felt in the mission, there have been quite a few, but every single one has been temporary and bigger blessings have come from it. Pain truly shapes and molds us into who we need to become!
We have changes tomorrow and I am so sad to see Sister O go. It is incredible to think of how fast my 6 weeks went with her. It was a 6 weeks full of pure laughter, hard work and pure fun! I am better because I have served with her!
This month we have been showing a video called "He is the Gift" and I just love it! It truly puts into perspective why we celebrate Christmas. It is because God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so that we each through him may be saved in happiness. I love being able to truly focus on why we celebrate Christmas. Celebrating it this year has helped me to want to have the Christmas spirit year around! I loved the Christmas Devotional yesterday and the spirit here in the Santa Elena chapel was incredible. I loved a few quotes:
"The best gifts are not material things. It is the small and simple things that mean the most"
"Jesus Christ is the never ending and never dimming light of the world."
I am so thankful for each of you and the love and support you give me! I love you all and pray for you daily! Keep on keepin on!
Bringing 'em heaven as I glory in his name!
Love,
