This week was a special one! This week was actually really hard, come to think about it, this whole change (6 weeks) has been dang hard! I have to say that even though I have felt alone at times, I have always felt the love of Heavenly Father and my brother Jesus Christ here to push me on! Anyway...here is a little run down! I can't wait to be able to tell you these stories in person because some of them will have you guys dying on the ground of laughter!!
So...Dennis. I am not sure if I have mentioned something about him, but he is 16 and his parents are in the states and Italy. He is a choice son of God and Heavenly Father has prepared him to make these changes in his life. He came to church yesterday and he went with the young men. I was touched as one of the young men got out of his seat, gave him a bro hug and gave him the seat. I think he really liked it. I have not seen him since yesterday, but we will visit with him this week! We invited him to be baptized on the 18th and he said yes! We just need a signature from his gram because he is not 18.
RENE!!! I love him! I got a message on Wednesday night saying I am an angel and if I cannot go to his baptism, he will bring his baptism to me! We are planning it for the 11th of October and I cannot wait!! I was so touched that our relatiojnship has stayed strong. I was so worried about him when I left, but as with all things, Heavenly Father has his plans and his time! He just blesses us to be apart of these miracles!!
Dennis and Mirnely are doing okay! They are talking about getting married and they are praying for the 18th of this month as well! We had a really powerful lesson with them about their doubts and they accepted everything we taught! They understood that our body is a temple and that is why we do not drink coffee or get tatoos. Daniel told me he would like to be baptized the 18th. He lives an hour away and comes to Mirnely's house, but she is having problems with her family so last I heard, she moved in with Danny yesterday, but they are going to come to our ward because they felt like Family here! They called it "our church!" It was so great that they loved it! They did not come yesterday becasue she has been sick with her baby. She is so tiny and her baby boy is huge it sounds like! We are praying for them and I am hoping that we are able to help them find answers and make choices in their lives that will change their eternity.
Friday night while we were planning, Hernama Hernandez said we were going to El Carmen. This is a really dangerous area and many members have told us not to go there. I said that I did not feel comfortable going where we have been told not to go! She said "I do not care, we are going!" I said "no!" We talked about it and she said nothing has ever happened when she went and I pointed out that she looks like she is from here. I get so much attention from everyone and their dog because I am a white girl in this Latin country!! I get unneeded comments, looks, etc. She said we were going because it is safe. President always says to call your bishop if you do not know about an area, so I called and he said we would be crazy to go there because there are a bunch of gangs and problems! She rolled her eyes and we did not talk for the rest of the night. She is not my biggest fan, but I am trying so hard to be a good companion and love her. It seems like everything nice I do gets turned around and thrown in my face! I am learning and growing from this and I know we were put together for a reason!
Saturday night was the best! I was so in love with womans conference! It was so fun! All of us American Missionaries were in our own room with a member Sister Markland! We had a party and I felt the love of Heavenly father so strong. I knew that I was not alone! I loved Sister Linda K. Burton's talk. She talked about putting oil in our lamps and how our oil is the small things: Church, Study, Prayer, etc! I am trying so hard to fill my lantern and I hope you are all doing your part at home to fill your lanterns!
Sunday night I got American food with Americans! It was stroganoff and it was heavenly! The Marklands live in our ward and they invited us over to eat! They had a good veggie tray with Ranch dip from the states!! I was a little girl in heaven! They were awesome and I felt like I was in the states for 5 seconds!!
I literally just got a phone call saying I am staying with my companion for the next change. I need prayers please. I do not know how I am going to survive. I think I was in hopes of changes and I should not have done that...but I guess I have more to learn! Please pray that I can learn what I need to and quickly!!!!! This next change is 4 weeks and I know it will be a day by day maybe even an hour buy hour, but I will not let you guys down! I promise to do my best :) I hope to get another American to come live with us! Hermana Poche and I fought together to stay alive and I need a new fighter!!
Thank you so much for the love and support you give me each week! I am so blessed to have each of you and I could not imagine my life without you. I am so blessed!!!
Bringing 'em heaven as I glory in His name!!
