Dear time,
Please slow down!!!!!!!!
Thank you,
Sister Savage
I cannot believe it is August!! What a week I had here in San Ignacio!! First of all...the computers we use are not good and last week I plagiarized from my companions email. Our house is fine and we are alive here in SI! Don't fret on behalf of us :)
This week was a week full of miracles! We were planning on having 3 baptisms on Friday, but oh how the Lord works his miracles according to His will! On Wednesday we went to teach Anadia her last lesson before she was ready to be baptized and her mom said the only time that she would be able to support Anadia was Wednesday evening. She said "Can we do Anadia's baptism today?" Well...we were not going to say no to that!! We got everything lined up and the baptism was beautiful! Anadia was so excited and it meant the world to her that she was able to get baptized. She has been waiting for a while and she glows everyday!
This week Sister Richins and I went to work with the sisters in Santa Elena and Belmopan. It was so fun going back to SE! It was like I was going home! I love those people so much! We went to Belmopan on Friday and it was great! It is really cool to go serve in other areas for a day and see how the branches are and how the work goes in different places!
Gloria and Erika changed their baptism to Saturday evening and told us that nothing was going to stop them from being baptize! We could not find Gloria and Erika on Thursday and because we were gone on Friday we could not see them. We went to find them first thing when we got back to SI and they were not home! We met every single neighbor of their's and taught lessons to them while we kept an eye out for Gloria and Erika to come home, but nothing! As we stood in the street at 7:05 Sister Richins and I decided if they show up, it is God's will and if not then they need to prepare more. As we turned to ride to the church, we saw 2 shadows running towards us, one of them pushing a stroller. We decided to ride and see if it was them and it was!!!! They had been in the furthest part of Santa Elena with their family the Montalvan family!!!! They reached and it was such a great spirit that was there! They were dripping with sweat after walking/running for an hour and a half and they were so excited! It turned out great and We saw God's hand playing a huge part in their baptism.
We had the opportunity to go to an AA meeting with one of our AMERICAN investigators named Pete. He has now been sober for 5 years and he invited us to celebrate! It was really a great experience to see people there with the desire to change their lives! Pete has been meeting with missionaries for almost a year and he is so close to being baptized. Please pray for him that he will read the Book of Mormon and pray to know if it is true! That is his only block!
Jason and Erika are awesome! They informed us that they are preparing to get married and baptized :) We are so happy for them and as we teach them the spirit is so strong! I know they were prepared to hear the Gospel at this time in their lives!
I love San Ignacio, but I'm not so sure that San Ignacio loves my companion and I! The branch is upset with us because we had 3 baptisms on different days and have asked their help and support. Our mission leader quit due to the "changes the missionaries make," we contacted a reference and the man called the police on us for "disturbing his peace" and our Branch President gave away the brownies that we made for him from scratch while fasting. We will keep on keeping on and trying to win these people over!
I love you all so much and I am so thankful for you guys! Thank you for your love and prayers! I hope you all have the best week and smile all day everyday!!!
Bringin 'em heaven as I glory in His name!!
Much love,
Sister Savage
