Hola Familia and Friends,
This week felt like an eternity! It was a week full of changes. On Wednesday, Hermana Reyes left and my new comp. came. Her name is Hermana Urbina and she is from Guatemala. I now live in a house of only Spanish speakers! I am learning and being challenged!!
On Wednesday, I cried and cried. Not because Hermana Reyes left, but because I felt the weight of my call for the first time. The salvation of my area is on my shoulders. I have never felt this before, but it was so strong! It made me realize how serious this work is here! I pray daily that I can live up to what the Lord expects from me.
I always heard that a mission shapes and molds you, but I never realized or recognized that until now. I can feel the pressure, the stress and the challenges, but along with that I can feel the Lord's hand in my life. I do not know if he is shaping me, but I can feel him near by and he always picks me up when I fall.
There was one thing my mission President said in change meeting that stuck out to me: ""We are not here to suffer, suffering is just part of the package." It reminded me of a Youtube video called "The Atonement" with Elder Eyring and Holland. I would encourage you to watch it! It is incredible and it is so accurate! Even in my suffering, I know that Jesus Christ has suffered it all before just for me. I know that he is near by. I know that through him, we can receive strength to face our daily battles. Without that strength, I could not be here doing this alone. As a missionary, you see the Atonement change peoples lives, but more than anyone else, I have seen it change my life. I know each of you have the key to unlock this power in your hand. Use this key and I promise your life will you change for the better!!!
I love each of you so dang much! Thank you so much for your ongoing love and support! I am eternally grateful for each of you! Make this week the best week ever!!
Bringing ém heaven as I glory in his name!
