Good Morning!
So...remember my chicken story (The chickeny hand and money, the chicken in the sun all day??) We walked past on Friday and I thought how gross, I will never eat one of those. We went to visit a less active and what do you know, she wanted to feed us chicken. She walked out and bought one of the chickens sitting in the sun, she was cooking fish for her and her husband, and she was using the same knife, sticking her hand in the salt bag, rubbing it on the chicken, rubbing it on the fish...so much cross contamination. I was dying and yes...I ate it. Never say never!!
We went to the temple on Wednesday and it was so great! I love the time we get to go and spend in the temple. I did the whole thing in Spanish and I understood most of it! I love the celestial room! It is so pretty. It is soft tones and I enjoyed it so much!
We put a date with Saul for the 23rd. He only had 2 church attendances and did not make it yesterday, so we are changing it to the 30th and hoping to baptize him and Julio the same day. They are both progressing and I love seeing them love the gospel! There is nothing that makes me more happy! Julio is getting married to Joselyn next week and I love them both dearly. They want to come visit me in the states after I get home. She told me yesterday she wants to be friends forever! I love that I am here bringing these people something that means so much to me, and I am building relationships that I truely hope to have forever!!
Rene called me yesterday looking for a church in San Salvador. He was there for the weekend and he wanted to go. It was the cutest thing, but he was late in calling and I did not know until I got home. It made me so sad, but it was the cutest things that he called to look.
This week I had an adventure with a spider the size of my palm. We were in the Canales home and the husband threw his shoe. I asked why and he said there was a spider. It was on the other end of the room, so I did not freak out! Next thing I know it comes jolting for me! It ran under the couch and I was having a heart attack inside me. I calmy moved seats and Jairo killed it. That was the biggest spider I have seen here and I am hoping it is the biggest I will see!! :)
We had a cockroach in our house this week and I tell the other girls and they kill it. Well...they would not kill it for me this week. They were all sitting in their tables and I asked them and they told me I had to do it. They all channted SAVAGE!! I did it! They all screamed and clapped for me!
On Saturday I had the best night! Nury Rivera invited us to eat dinner with her and it was the first time in my mission that I have sat down at a table and eat with a family. It was so fun as we all laughed, talked and enjoyed the moment! It was such a blessing to have that moment! Usually the people just give us food and go in a different room or cook or something!
This week was a good one, I am working hard and I am loving the people! I hope that you all have an excellent week!
Bringing ém heaven as I glory in his name!!
With all my love,
