Dear Family and Friends,
Where do I even begin this week??????
I was sick last time we talked and it was a little Chikungunya flare up. I went to the Dr. and the whole country of Belize freaks when they hear the C word! I said it in the hospital (which was like the hospitals in haunted houses. I sat there feeling like a crazy nurse in a white dress covered with blood was going to chase me with a bloody knife!) and they had to call the Belize minister of health and he had to come get involved. They had to take my blood in one hospital and The Rinderknechts helped me transfer it in a Bio Hazard bag to the next hospital and from there it went to the Caribbean to get tested. The Minister of Health made it sound like I was the new science experiment of Belize and if I have Chikungunya I will be deported. Good fun! I did find out that I had a little case of parasites that has been making me very sick. I was able to get some medicine and I am on the ups now!
This Saturday Aaron Mejia will be baptized and he is so excited! It has been so fun to work with him and to see his excitement! His mom is awesome as well. Her name is Carolina and she is always in the lessons with us doing a lot of the teaching. She is one woman who is with the program and doing her job with her children in the church! Aaron has taught me so much, he is always so excited and he loves everybody! He loves Jesus Christ and he cannot wait to be baptized and move onto his next step: To be a missionary!
This week Pday is on Wednesday because of our Thanksgiving multi zone on Monday! We got to have a Thanksgiving meal and listen to President and Sister Hintze speak. They are so awesome! I am so grateful for them! They truly are inspired and I love learning from each of them! Somethings I loved that were shared: "Your future is in your hands, the outcome is up to you!" President Monson Sister Hintze then reminded us to "Open your eyes and live in Thanksgiving daily!" I love that so much! I know that when we are grateful we are happy! We talked about how even in hard situations we can find things to be grateful for and that will be able to help us through our hard trials!! I have been able to see that and I know that gratitude is huge and the more grateful we are, the more the Lord will shower blessings on us! I am also very thankful that I got my English name tags at the multizone!!
Cindy Montalvan is 21 years old and she has been talking and praying about serving a mission. We have been able to have her go out on splits and she has come to our house to study with us! We have taught her how to study PMG, the scriptures and True to the Faith. She is so cute and she has done so good being with us and learning about missionary life!
This week was actually a really hard one being sick! We were in the house a lot and it gave me way too much time to think of myself! I know that right now I am not thinking of myself and I am so thankful for that! After thinking of why I was feeling down, I realized I was not "turning out!" I was too busy thinking of myself and it was time to get over that! I was quickly able to see the difference in my own feelings! It just goes to show that when you serve others, you really forget yourself and you are happier. I have been so grateful to learn that lesson, because it is one that will last my whole life!
I have to tell you guys...I have had more DejaVu moments in the last 4 weeks than I ever have had in my entire life! Every time I have one of those moments, I know that I am meant to be here. I feel the spirit speak to me and tell me that I am doing what the Lord wants and I am on his errand. I am trying every single day to be able to report that I am doing all I can to "Feed his sheep!" Even if a lady grabs my arm and tells me I am wrong and need to study more about the spirit world. I love my mission and I am so thankful for the opportunity I have to serve the people here in Belize! Time is flying. I am enjoying every moment! (Even the moments I am dying with worms! hahah!!!!)
As Thanksgiving is tomorrow, I just want each of you to know how grateful I am for you and your love. I am so thankful to my father in heaven for having each of you in my life. I love you more than words can say and I am so thankful for the support you have given me my entire life! Thank you, thank you!!
I love you all! Have a fabulous week!
Bringing 'em heaven as I glory in his name!!
