Dearest Family and Friends,
Happy Monday! This week was a week of miracles! I hope I get them all for you guys! (I wish you guys could just follow me around as a fly...I am so blessed to be here and I just want you all to see every miracle!)
On Monday we had a surprise party for Sister O. We were in the Moody's house and all of the people we work with and visit came! It was a lot of fun and the Elders helped me plan it. Sister Swanson was a great help and Sister O was so surprised! It was a great night for her and she was very happy.
On Tuesday she left and I shed a few tears, I was so blessed to be able to have her as my companion. I learned so much from her and we had a great time together! My new companion is Sister Hope. I had a dream 3 weeks ago that she came and was in my house, so I kind of knew it would be her. She is nice, from Burbank WA and she has 4 months left in the mission. She is very shy and quiet which is so different than what our area is used to. They are trying to adjust! She is absolutely darling!!
On Friday we had our branch Christmas party. It was SO MUCH FUN! We had the bush that brother Moody brought, I made tissue flowers and we did a program and made it so fun! Each of the auxiliaries did a performance then we had an open mic type of thing. Sister Rinderknecht, Hope and I sang Oh Come All Ye Faithful, then I was in charge of a game. I had 7 people come up and each person had to say 1 word of a Christmas Hymn and if the person could not get the next word, they lost. (Jingle Bells with mom and Si last year inspired this game!!) We had dinner, the people planned 60 (I said plan for 80) and 75 people came. It was Awkward as they told people to share their food. Always go over is my idea!
We did not have a Christmas tree and I could not bring myself to buy one...so I thought it would be okay to not have a tree this year. I was not feeling Christmas at all! I was sad about it, so when our branch president asked what we were doing with the branch and I volunteered to adopt it! We not only got the bush, but we got all the decorations with it! Our house is so cute! I love it!
On Wednesday, we were tracting looking for news and I had the biggest prompting to go to a house in front of us. It was clear as day "Go to that house" We went and met a woman named Shawnie. She was very open and accepted us right in. She said she would go to church, and that she would bring her son...but we could not count on her husband. He works on Sundays. Well, Sunday came around and we went to walk with her and her son Albert. Her husband Albert was outside brushing his teeth and he said he would be joining us for church! It was a miracle that he got work off and that he was using his day off (Due to being sick) to go with us to church! We passed after church and they said they loved it and will continue going! We have a family home evening with them tonight and I am so excited to see what is in store for their future! They are the Vera family! A miracle family in the works!
I love in Mormon 9:15 it says that "God has not ceased to be a God of miracles" and boy is that true! I am so grateful that I get to see God's miracles everyday in the mission! This is His work and I am just his hand. I love it and I am so happy to be in the wonderful country of Belize!
I love you all so much and I am so grateful for your love and support! Thank you for all you do for me and the strength you guys give me! Have the best week and feel the Belizan Love coming your way!!
Bringing 'em heaven as I glory in his name!
Love,
