Hello my fave 5, Family and Friends!
I am on cloud 9 today!! After 6.5 months in the country and 2 months of a really hard situation, I am peacing out of El Salvador tomorrow afternoon! I cannot wait to be able to learn and love the people over there! I will teach in English, Spanish and I might even be able to pick up some Creoul!
This week was really quite odd! Here is what I remember and what sticks out to me!
*There was another little earthquake! I felt it and said to my comp..."The ground just shook!!" she said no, then we got home and the other sisters said they felt it too! Earthquake number 2...check!
*We had to have a companionship inventory with our whole house and my companion told me she hopes that Heavenly Father will send her a companion that she likes. She has 9 months in the mission and has only semi liked one comp. Bless her heart, I hope she will get a companion she likes too.
*I made a bowl of oatmeal that I had in the freezer (so bugs don't get in it) and I made it and took a bite. It was apple flavor which I do not even like, and it had a bunch of little brown specs. I looked closer as I was eating a bite and IT WAS ABOUT 25 LITTLE ANIMALS THAT I HAD JUST EATEN!!!!! I think I only ate a few, but I was not hungry anymore. Oh, the adventures in El Salvador!!
*Thrusday my ZL told me that 2 missionaries from our zone are going to Belize. We knew one of the office elders were going and my ZL said I was the other. Saturday Morning I got a phone call from Hermana Ray and she said she is going. I was trying to be excited for her, but I was crushed inside! While I was talking to her, one of the APs called and said he had bad news for me. Everyone knew I wanted to go and they said they were going to call me either way! All 4 APs had it on speaker and they told me that I have been called to serve in Belize. As you could all imagine...I screamed a little and they all busted out laughing! I have been so excited since I got the call!
I ship out tomorrow after a lovely temple session! I will not go again until I touch foot here in El Salvador in a few months! I am so excited for this journey Thank you for your love and support you guys give me! Thank you for your prayers this last change, it was really a hard one, but I feel like I have grown so much not only as a missionary, but as a person. I hope that I accomplish what I was meant to in this area with Hermana Hernandez. It was hard, and I would never choose to do it again, but I know I did not do it alone. I had so much help from Heaven and you all. Thank you!!!
Bringing 'em heaven as I glory in his name!!
Love,
Hermana Savage! (p.s. next week it could be Sister Savage!)
