Hello Fam and Friends!!
What a week here in Cayo!!! I cannot believe another week has bit the dust! Shoot!! There was a lot of lying here in San Ignacio and that was a huge down fall! 23 people told us they would come to church and 4 came! We found a new house and signed the contract and as we started moving in we found out that the landlord did not fulfill all of his responsibilities that he said he would do before we moved in. Members signed up to go out and work with us, but everyone cancelled! That is one thing that I have learned over the course of my mission is to be flexible, to improvise when needed and to give people the benefit of the doubt!
Our 4 in church are our 4 most positive investigators right now!!
*Jason and Erica came to church and want to be baptized on the 22nd! They are not married and the problem with that one is that Jason's mom is in the States and is not coming until November. We have invited them to get married in a little ceremony to keep the commandments and then in November they can do a huge celebration. Please pray for them!
*Jessi is 18 and likes to smoke weed. I have been oblivious to weed my whole life and I got weed educated this week. I'm not proud of that, but just thought you might like to know. He is working on stopping so that he will be able to be baptized on the 22nd as well! He is super cool and wants to change his life!
*Crazy Eddie(he calls himself that)! This man is awesome! He used to (as in 2 weeks ago) walk around drunk with a huge speaker on his shoulder blasting crazy music, but we invited him this week to come to an activity and he came!!!!! He loved it so much that he came to church yesterday...SOBER!!!! He is working on overcoming his addiction and preparing to be baptized on the 29th! He has in my eyes gone from "Crazy Eddie" to just Eddie! Not so crazy anymore!!!
This week I got to go work in Succotz with Sister Ray and that completes it!! I have now worked in every single sisters area in Belize-the main land! It has been super cool to know the people and work with them from the northern part of the country to the farthest part that sisters work! We are blessed with incredible missionaries and I love working with them as well!
We found a what we thought would be a great house and we jumped. Shoot! I will NEVER jump on a house again. It was not just us, the senior couples approved it and it should be a great house for the sisters, but I am glad I will not be working with the sneaky landlord for much longer.
My companion and I were protected by my angel Grandmas and Grandpas this week. We had to go downtown late at night on Saturday and it was going to take us a long time to walk back up the hill. (remember I am in the land of the hills right now) We thought we were super smart and we got a taxi and put our bikes in the trunk. As we were driving up the hill, the taxi driver started talking and slurring his speech then out of no where we were in the oncoming traffic's lane!! I screamed "STOP THE CAR!!!!!!" He got back on the right side of the road and we got out in the middle of the road and continued to our destination. Angels were there for that one!
Life is so great as a missionary! Sister Richins and I are working hard to invite everyone to repent and come unto Christ! Thank you so much for all the love and support I have received from you guys!! I am so spoiled in the support department! I love you all!
Bringin 'em Heaven as I glory in His name!!
LOL-Lots of love not laugh out loud!!
Love,
Sister Savage!
