Hello Hello!
^^ That is how we greet people here in Belize!!
Life is still golden here in Belize! I love it so much! I am so excited to sit and read my journal to you guys, because 1 hour to write cannot capture every moment in mission life! There is a huge difference in the missionary work here and in El Salvador. Here, everyone is so excited and the people are so loving, funny and friendly! I love it!
The Montalvans: a family of 16 with 4 of the children/grandchildren who have not been baptized. Ashley, Taryn, David and Amalia. Sister O. found them a week before I came and we have been teaching them ever since. They are getting baptized on Saturday!! It is going to be so fun to be able to include the whole family in the service! I love this family so much!!
Aaron Mejia is going to get baptized on the 29th! His family is less active, but we are working with them and they are very excited for this baptism! He has asked our branch president if he could be baptized and he is doing all of his little assignments we leave him!
This week was a fun one! One of our members, Don needed money, and he sells tarts and corn dogs. We bought some tarts and corn dogs from him and oh my, they were heaven! They were pecan tarts. To die for! I want to ship some home for you guys!! In our branch, we have a lot of people who struggle, so we get to help them by finding ways they can help us. One man cuts our lawn with his machete!
I spoke in church yesterday and directed the music! 1st time ever! It was fun! I love helping the branch and doing all sorts of service for them! We have FHE every week, scripture study class, we clean the church twice a week, we are able to help them with so many things and it makes me so happy! Saturday nights we do zumba night and we get the R.S. dancing! It is a lot of fun! I have never been so close with the members of the church and I am falling in love with my area and the people here everyday!
Today we went to Caracol. The largest ruin in Belize! It was a 3 hour ride each way, but it was so cool. We were able to climb on the ruin and take lots of pics! We heard howling monkeys and we ran to find them! We found them and got to watch them howl and swing on the trees! It was incredible! So worth the expensive journey out there!
Okay Friends...we are having a contest! When President Hintze introduced bikes to us, he said "everyone will have a fall" So...You all can place bets on when I am going to fall! Next week, I will write them all down and who ever guesses the date closest to the date I take my biff, I am going to send you a lil something something from Belize!! haha! If it is inevitable (especially with me being so clumsy..) we might as well have a good time with it...right?? :)
I love you all and I am so grateful for you guys! Have the best week and feel my love and prayers!!
Bringing 'em heaven as I glory in his name!
Love,
Sister Savage!
