Happy Monday!!!
We had a great week this week! Last Monday we made tacos as a zone...2 Elders were manning the salt...bad idea!!! They were the most salty food I have ever eaten in my life! They took Grandma Jardine's salt saying to the next level!! (Grandma Jardine will say if you want people to compliment your food use salt:)
We have a lot of good investigators right now! Please pray that they will all be able to make the sacrifice to go to church this week! Each of them will need to sacrifice something...but I know they will be blessed far more if they sacrifice for church!
Susana and Alejandra (aunt and niece) They are reading, praying and very interested! Every time we invite them to baptism, they say yes! We just need some church attendance!
Jackelyn loves the Bible and she loves what we teach her! She is reading and she prayed. She asked what missionaries to listen to (us or Jehova's Witnesses) and she said in that instant our images went into her mind! She is awesome and she has great potential!!
Saul is old and has cancer. He took work off on Sunday to go to church, but his daughter got deported from the U.S. so he had to go get her in San Salvador. (There are so many people who are there illigaly...I hear of people everyday!) He is going to Guatemala this week and bringing my comp and I T-Shirts! I will send pics next week! He has great potential as well!
Rene! I love him! Hermana Urbina does not appreciate him! He came to a baptism with us on Saturday for the other sisters and he told us it will be him soon! He can be baptized whenever he says he is ready!
On Friday we were preparing a lesson for Susana and it was just not going right! Hermana Urbina and I were on totally different pages, so I suggested that we teach something else! We ended up teaching the Atonement. One of the A.P.s came with us and the lesson went so well! It was so cool to see the spirit direct us and guide us to what she needed, not what was next on the checklist of baptism.
We were walking down the street and a man on a bike with a cart on the front was yelling at us. He kept looking behind his shoulder and yelling. Here people yell at me and make kissy noises because I am white...anyway! He was yelling and kept turning around over his shoulder and he ran into the back of a truck!! He dented the truck, and he jolted forward! He looked back at us, then went on his way!! It was so dang funny and I wish each of you could have seen it!
A man asked us to go in and say a prayer with his aunt who has cancer, so we went into her room and she was miserable. It was so sad to see her crying from the pain. She has been suffering for 8 months. We shared a scripture and said a prayer. It was a sweet spirit there as we petitioned for her to be comforted in her pain.
After we left, Hna Urbina said she has never seen someone cry from pain. I was shocked! It made me think of our boy E.T. "pain is temnporary. It may last for an hour or a minute or a day or even a year...but eventually it will subside!"(E.T. is Eric Thomas a man Dalton my brother introduced me to on You Tube, he's Awesome!) We are lucky to have a help in our pains. It may not be taken away, but with Jesus Christ we can receive strength to continue on! I have received this strength everyday. I was looking at pictures of us at the airport the morning I left and it still hurts to be away, but I had a peace come over me. I wondered how I walked away after hugging each of you. I realized that I did not do it alone. I had heavenly help moving my legs and I have had so much support from our savior Jesus Christ all along the way. He knows each of us and he is here for us when we feel alone. I promise that as you seek for him, he will always be there for you! In any situation, he will always catch you when you fall! That is what big brothers do! Always rely on him!
I love each of you! Have a great week!
Bringing ém heaven as I glory in his name!
