MAWNIN, MAWNIN!!!!
Boy this was a week! I cannot believe it has been a whole week already and I am not even sure how it went by so fast! We were on the go…I guess that’s why! A lot has changed here in Cayo, but here are the deets…
Jason and Erica need a little more preperation time before getting baptized. They are not sure they want to get married and Satan is working really hard on them right now. They fought all week long. Jason also has no desire to quit smoking weed. They are so grateful for technology and they poffered to Skype me in for their wedding and baptism. Sister Richins will keep working with them and helping them work to be married and baptized on September 12.
Eddie was crazy drunk this weekend. I was talking to him and he just cried saying he has no value or worth and no one loves him. He is having a hard time living God’s commandments. He has no faith in himself and when we extend commitments to him he says “I’ll try.” I have learned that to receive promised blessings from the Lord, we can’t “try” we have to do with full intent all the time!
Lela is a cute new that the Segura family brought to church last week. Her family was all baptized while she was young, but her family has since fallen inactive. Her mom is against her being baptized right now, but we are working with her and the Seguras to teach her and help her be able to get permission to be baptiezed! I have learned that if we put Faith in Heavenly Father and do all we can do, he will work miracles acording to his will!
Pete is awesome! I am so sad that he was not able to get baptized while I was here because he may not know it, but I know he is close! Teaching him is such a great experience because he listens and considers everything we teach. This week Sister Richins and I reviewed the Restoration with him and the spirit was so strong as we testified that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that The Book of Mormon is true. It is so incredible to be a missionary because as we testify of truths of the gospel my testimony grows and strengthens! Sister Richins and I walked out of that lesson with goosebumps on our arms knowing with no doubt that the church is true!
We taught an English class and it was so much fun! It was 4 of our investiagtors that came. Sister Richins and I being almost the same person and coming from cheerleading backgrounds had them stomping and clapping to help them remember simple phrases in English!! It was so much fun!
Here are some more fun facts from dis week!
*It was so hot and I sweat so much this week that if a bug landed on me it drown in my sweat! That happened multiple times! Bless!
*President Nelson came to El Salvador and we got to see Him through Skype. He gave us specific instruction for our mission and encouraged us to teach tithing with boldness –“don’t be afraid to teach tithing to the poor” and to work with less active men! I love getting specific instruction on how to better our areas and the work! He is such a cute man and he is great friends with President Hintze. It was fun to see them interact through the skype! So sad that the connection was lost mid conference.
*A tourist threw an apple out the window of a tourist van and just my luck it pegged me a I was biking up a hill! Sister Richins and I about fell off our bikes laughing!
*I biked all the way up double street. That is a big deal!!!! It is almost as bad as the Lehi dip!!!
*We had district conference Saturday and Sunday and we had investigators in all 4 sessions! President and Sister Hintze are the best and I am so thankful for their teachings and advice! They talked about families, testimonies, Temple attendance and living the Gospel of Jesus Christ faithfully-very inspiring!
I am so thankful that I get to serve in San Ignacio with Sister Richins! It has taught me so much and I am so thankful for her and the relationship we have created. We are not just companions, we are best friends! San Ignacio has taught me to be patient, to have faith and to love all those that I come in contact with!
I love unu so much and I am so thankful for your support and love! I hope you have a blessed week and I hope that is does not go by too fast for you! I love you guys!
Brining ‘em Heaven as I glory in His name!!
