This week was THEE BEST!!!! Well...this weekend!
This week we talked to Dennis and he left for the States on Wednesday. I hope that he will be able to find the missionaries out there. He did not know his address, so we could not send a referral. He said he was going to find a church, but who knows...hopefully!
Mirnely and Daniel broke up. Mirnely has family that is really strong in their church and her parents have told her we cannot come back. It was sad to see that situation unfold, because everything in her life is a mess right now and I know that with the gospel, it could help her in every single trial.
On Wednesday, I went on inter changes with Hermana Mims. We were going to change back and we were on a bus and it passed where we needed to get off. It was DOWN POURING! We got off the bus and were running to Salvador Del Mundo. (google pics of it!) We were getting soaked and we were running through this park with this statue. They had fountains and we went to run through one. Low and Behold...I slipped (I know..that never happens) and I fell into the splits! I was laying on the ground dying of laughter and the security guards started laughing! Hermana Mims yelled that he was a bad person and all of a sudden she went down and slid like it was a slip 'n slide! It was a total accident, but it was the greatest thing ever! We were soaking wet and loving every second of it!!
Saturday was a dream come true!! René was so happy when he got to the church and he brought his whole family that were not members. 3 families from the Sensunapán ward came and it was so great to see them! It was Rossita and Margarito, The Blancos and Bishop and his family! Hermana Meyer and Hermana Urbina came to. René had told me he would never wear a white shirt and tie...but he showed up in a white shirt and tie! It was the cutest thing ever! He changed and we took pictures, I have dreamed of a picture like this since I submitted my mission papers! President Hintze is the best and he fulfilled the dream of René which was to baptize him! President spoke about baptism and Hermana Hintze spoke about the Holy Ghost. When René was baptized, he came out of the water and grabbed President in a huge hug!! René cried and cried! While they were changing, us sisters bore our testimonies. I got up there and just cried!! René walked in while I was sharing my testimony and he said in the middle Te Agradezco!! (which means he is thankful to me) He then got to share his testimony and he just cried. He said how this church has healed him and helped him to be a better person. That melted my heart. He calls me his Angel and he said to everyone that his "angelita Savage" is such a blessing! I was meant to meet him and I saw the hand of the Lord in this situation. It was a miracle that I was able to see him be baptized and to share his special day with him! It is a day that I will forever be thankful for! This day made everything worth it. The pain, the homesickness, the trials, the heat, the companion, everything that is hard was worth it and will continue to be worth it! I am so thankful to be here and to have the opprotunity to know him, to have been able to teach him and to have been able to see him come unto Christ.
Our Gospel principles teacher asked us to teach the lesson yesterday with all 9 of the missionaries in our ward! Well...this week was literally CRAZY and no one had time to prepare. I read through the lesson during sacrament and then my comp told me "I am not prepared so I am not helping you." I ended up teaching the class all by myself! It was a struggle. I said to my comp that no one was prepared, but together we could do it and she still was stubborn! She did not answer any questions or participate. She stared at me with her arms folded! It was interesting!
I really am so happy! I may have been looking at the glass half empty, but now I am seeing it half full! We are working to find new investigators and we are working to help our less actives! Changes are in 2 weeks and I am so excited for them! I am not sure what is going to happen...But I will keep you all updated!!
Thank you all for your love and support! I love you all and I can feel you all behind me pushing me along! I could not do it without you all! You are in my prayers and I am sending my love!
Bringing 'em Heaven as I glory in his name!
Love,
Hermana Savage
